Anton Gino Domeneghini

Anton Gino Domeneghini (born April 30, 1897 in Darfo , province of Brescia , † November 6, 1966 in Milan ) was an Italian advertising specialist and film animator .

Life

Domeneghini fought alongside Gabriele D'Annunzio , one of the ideas behind Italian fascism , and chose a career as a journalist and advertiser. In the latter area, he became one of the most influential people in Italy as early as the 1930s. He first worked for the US agency "Erwin Wasey & Co" and then for IMA, the industry leader in Italy from the 1930s to the 1960s.

During the Second World War , Domeneghini, who always had a weakness for animation films and was responsible for a number of short films, used the time from 1942 to produce and realize La rosa di Badgad , the first cartoon in his home country , which was finally released in 1949 . After the end of the war it was sent to England for color processing, was presented at the Venice Film Festival in 1949 and received the award for best children's film.
