Anton Jax

Anton Jax (born September 6, 1870 in Waidhofen an der Ybbs ; † June 23, 1932 ) was an Austrian business owner and politician ( CS ). Jax was a member of the Lower Austrian state parliament and a regional councilor in the Lower Austrian state government .

Jax attended elementary, lower secondary and commercial school and then completed a technical college for milling and mill construction in Germany. Jax was a business owner in Waidhofen an der Ybbs.

Jax was a local councilor and was elected chairman of the district roads committee. He was also a member of the Provincial Culture Council and from 1927 to 1932 curator of the Lower Austrian Provincial Mortgage Institution. Jax represented the Christian Social Party from January 8, 1909 to January 8, 1915 in the Lower Austrian state parliament, with Jax representing the rural communities (GB Waidhofen / Ybbs and Gaming ). After the First World War he was a member of the provisional state parliament from November 5, 1918 to May 4, 1919 and was also a member of the state parliament from May 20, 1919 to May 11, 1921 during the separation phase of Vienna from Lower Austria. From November 10, 1920, he was a member of the Lower Austria Land Curia. After the separation, Jax was a member of the state parliament from May 11, 1921 to May 21, 1932. In addition, from May 11, 1921 to May 20, 1927 he held the office of regional councilor in the Lower Austrian regional government.
