Anton Joachim Christian Bruhn
Anton Joachim Christian Bruhn (born March 10, 1868 in Kiel ; † 1928 ) was a German carpenter and photographer. His pictures can be seen today in the Museum of Art and Industry Hamburg and in the Museum of Hamburg History .
Live and act
Anton Joachim Christian Bruhn initially hired himself as a carpenter. From 1886 to 1898 he was in the service of the building deputation in Hamburg .
In 1895 he acquired a trade license as a photographer. Around 1890 he started his own business as a photographer. The art collector and patron Ernst Juhl became aware of his pictures and acquired a number of them for his collection. On behalf of the Hamburg Senate and in close collaboration with Juhl, Bruhn created most of the photos for an illustrated book entitled Hamburg - Land and People of the Lower Elbe .
His works are now kept in the Hamburg Museum of Art and Industry and the Museum of Hamburg History, among others.
