Anton Lücht

Anton Meinhard Lücht (born  May 13, 1948 in Warsingsfehn ) is a German politician. He was a member of the Lower Saxony state parliament and was full-time mayor of the Moormerland community from 2006 to 2014 .

Life

Lücht completed an apprenticeship as a gas and water fitter and practiced this profession until 1979. Since then - interrupted by his office as a member of the Lower Saxony state parliament - he has been working as a teacher for specialist practice at the vocational schools II in Emden . He has been married since 1977 and has one son.

Political career

Lücht has been a member of the SPD and the municipality council of the Moormerland community since 1981. In 1986 he was local mayor of Warsingsfehn. In 1993 he was elected mayor of the municipality of Moormerland (honorary) after having become one of the deputies of his predecessor Herbert Welzel two years earlier. He held this office until 1999. From 1998 to 2003 he was a member of the Lower Saxony state parliament. In 2006 he was elected (full-time) mayor of the municipality of Moormerland. After completing his term of office, he resigned from his position on November 1, 2014.

Lücht was a member of the 11th Federal Assembly in 1999, which elected Johannes Rau as Federal President .
