Anton Mayer (farmer)
Anton Mayer (born December 14, 1888 ; † after 1963) was a German farmer and music association official.
Life
Mayer was a farmer and milk buyer in Altusried (Allgäu). In 1911 he founded the Harmonie Altusried music association and was band leader for 42 years. In 1926 he was the founding president of the Allgäu Music Association , to which five other regional bands belonged in addition to his own. After the end of the Second World War , he operated its re-establishment and was again President from 1948. In 1950 he also became president of the newly founded Allgäu-Swabian Music Association . From 1959 to 1963 he was the first president of the Bavarian Folk Music Association .
