Anton Pistotnig

Anton Pistotnig (born April 20, 1949 in Lavamünd in Carinthia) is an Austrian musician , oboist and military bandmaster from Lower Austria , retired.

Life

He comes from a family of musicians. First he learned the violin. He completed his musical training with oboe as a major at the Carinthian State Conservatory in 1975. He then worked as an oboist in the Carinthian State Symphony Orchestra and in the Chamber Orchestra of ORF Carinthia. After successfully passing the military bandmaster examination, he was since 1980 military bandmaster of Lower Austria in the military command in St. Pölten . He is also the regional music director of the Lower Austrian Brass Music Association (NÖBV), where he regularly leads courses for conductors and instrumentalists at Zeillern Castle .

On June 30, 2011 he retired as colonel of the Lower Austria military band.
