Anton Siebel
Anton Siebel (* January 1670 in Elberfeld , (today part of Wuppertal ), † June 1721 there ) was mayor of Elberfeld.
Anton Siebel came from an old Elberfeld merchant family through his father Abraham Siebel (1643–1717), which is rarely mentioned in public life in the city. In the years 1708–1715 and after the mayor's office from 1717 to 1721, he was a member of the council of the city of Elberfeld and in 1717 he held the office of city judge. By marrying Anna Margareta von Carnap (1671–1736), the niece of the six-time mayor Kaspar von Carnap (1648–1727), married in 1691 and related by marriage to the Carnap districts and his membership of the leading class of the then Elberfeld was given. With his wife Anna he had ten children, three of whom died in childhood. His son Abraham Siebel was appointed mayor three times.
