Anton Wodica

Anton Wodica (born April 29, 1914 in Hochwolkersdorf ; † February 24, 1980 in Wiener Neustadt ) was an Austrian politician ( SPÖ ) and typesetter. He was 1959-1962 member of the Bundesrat and 1962-1975 Member of the National Council .

Wodica attended five classes in an elementary school and then completed three classes in a community school. He then attended the technical college for typesetters and learned this profession between 1928 and 1932. After completing his training, Wodica was unemployed for several years, and finally found work in the Gutenberg printing company.

Wodica was politically active between 1952 and 1974 as a councilor in Wiener Neustadt, where he held the function of financial councilor from 1958 to 1963. He was also active as a functionary in the trade union of graphic workers and represented the SPÖ from June 15, 1959 to December 14, 1962 in the Federal Council. He was then from December 14, 1962 to November 4, 1975 a member of the National Council.

Appreciation

A park in Wiener Neustadt and Mattersburg was named after him.
