history
Before the birth of Christ, the area was part of the Celtic Kingdom of Noricum and belonged to the surroundings of the Celtic hill settlement Burg on the Schwarzenbacher Burgberg .
Later under the Romans, today's Hochwolkersdorf was then in the province of Pannonia .
In the last days of the Second World War , when the Soviet army marched in, their command post was set up during the advance on Vienna . The Soviets arranged a meeting with the first post-war Federal Chancellor Karl Renner von Gloggnitz and a member of the O5 resistance group in order to negotiate the gentle and non-fighting surrender of the city of Vienna, which, for example, provided for the protection of the vital Viennese spring water pipeline . During that time, however, O5 was exposed and some members were hanged in public in Floridsdorf .
