history

The own church built by the noble free in Lanzenkirchen became a parish church on January 21, 1203.

The originally well-preserved Romanesque church building with west tower, nave and easted choir was expanded in 1933 with a northern and southern extension. From 1961 to 1963, according to the plans of the architect Otto Ernst Hofmann, the two nave side walls were completely opened and a north-south oriented cubic nave was placed inside. The west tower was preserved, the choir was preserved as a side chapel and working day chapel.

In 1991 there was a restoration.

architecture

The box-shaped extension, facing north-south, has a cubic effect and closes with the altar wall in the north and with the entrance wall in the south, slightly concave with concrete walls. To the east is the former choir bay with a high apse from the 13th century. To the south of the choir is a single-storey sacristy extension from 1933 with a lower apis than the former access from the sacristy to the choir. The west tower gives the year 1755 and has a pointed roof from 1862.

The high, flat-roofed hall has a northern altar wall exposed to light through lateral slits, in the east a concrete-glass wall, in the west a wall with a high-lying window band, in the south an organ gallery is built in, and a glass vestibule under the gallery. In the east there is a weekday chapel as a former choir bay with apse from the 13th century with the triumphal arch and a baroque hanging dome, a fragment of a Romanesque base with a corner tuber as a spoiler is set up there.

The glass painting was created in 1961/1963, the east wall with scenes from the life of Laurentius was created by Ruth Mannhardt, the west wall was created by Florian Jakowitsch .

Furnishing

Josef Magnus created the high altar with a bronze crucifix. The former high altar is from the first half of the 19th century and has a tabernacle with a figure of Christ and two adoring angels.

There is a late baroque crucifix from the middle of the 18th century. The Stations of the Cross created Franz Barwig (1971).

The organ was built by M. Walcker-Mayer (1991).
