The castle hill is about 545 m above sea level. A. high mountain in the Rosaliengebirge in Lower Austria . It is located east of the Schwarzenbach market . The Rotte Schölderl connects to the north and Rotte Trift is located directly on the western slope of the Burgberg . The border with Burgenland , where the Siegesau , the valley of the Linabach stream , is located, runs only about 200 meters east of the summit . In the west lies the Schwarzenbach valley . Northern neighboring mountains are the Königsbichl ( 608 m ) and the Sieggrabener Kogel ( 650 m ). The Schwarzenbacher Burgberg is the last high elevation of the southern Rosaliengebirge, before it drops down towards Weppersdorf .
One of the largest Celtic ramparts in Austria is located on the Burgberg ( hill settlement Burg in Schwarzenbach ) and the Schwarzenbacher Museum Tower is right on the summit.
HP Schad'n wrote in 1938 that, according to an old Schwarzenbach legend, Anchenstein Castle stood on the summit of the Burgberg .
The small Schwarzenbach pilgrimage site Maria Bründl with the Bründl Chapel is located on the western slope of the Schwarzenbacher Burgberg .
