The Sieggrabener Kogel ( Hungarian : Szikra-bérc ) is a 650 m high hilltop in the Rosaliengebirge in Burgenland . In the Josephinische Landesaufnahme he is also called "Sigraben Kugl".
geography
The on victory Grabener victory Grabener located municipality Kogel is located northwest from the center of Sieggraben. Only about 100 meters west of the Sieggrabener Kogel is the border with Lower Austria (where - on the Lower Austrian side - the Schwarzenbacher Rotte Eggenbuch is located). The neighboring mountain in the northwest is the 622 m high Marriegel . From there, the Auwiesenbach flows around the Sieggrabener Kogel in the northeast and east.
geology
The rocks amphibolite , serpentinite and pegmatite are significantly involved in the structure of the Sieggrabener Kogel, marble and calcium silicate can also be found here. Here apatite , tourmaline and garnet were found in the summit area . Quartz and hematite predominate on the south and east slopes . Clinohumite , periclase and phlogopite were mined in a quarry northeast of the summit in the Auwiesenbachtal, which has now been abandoned . Tectonically , these rocks belong to the Sieggraben cover floe , which lies on top of the sub-eastern Alpine coarse gneiss unit.
nature
Several driving and hiking trails lead to the Sieggrabener Kogel, but none of them all the way to the top. The summit of the Sieggrabener Kogel is forested. In the area of the Sieggrabener Kogel there are orchards and some small dry grasslands . The area around the Sieggrabener Kogel was proposed as a Natura 2000 protected area due to its flora and diverse bird life .
