The Greimkogel is 677 m above sea level. A. high mountain in the Rosaliengebirge in Burgenland ( Austria ). The mountain is also called "Krein Kügl" in the Josephine regional survey . The summit is located in the municipal area of the city of Mattersburg about 200 meters north of the border with Lower Austria . In the south are the Rotten Hocheckgraben and Eggenbuch in the Lower Austrian market town of Schwarzenbach . In the east, the Jüdingsau valley leads to Marz . The neighboring mountain in the west is that673 m high Schwarzkogel , in the south lies the 622 m high Marriegel . The Alberthütte , a hunting lodge, stands on a flat ridge about 300 meters north of the summit . To the east of it a ridge runs down to the Burgenland expressway . This ridge, just below 600 m , is called The Fool . Its name is derived from a legend according to which a foolish farmer found his end here after trying to boast a heavy barrel of wine over his back at night.
The Greimkogel is completely forested and easily accessible with forest roads. A wide footpath leads in a south-west-north-east direction over the summit.
