The Hocheckgraben (also spelled Hochegg-Graben ) is a group of the market town of Schwarzenbach in the district of Wiener Neustadt-Land in Lower Austria .

Hocheckgraben is located in the Hocheckgraben of the same name in the southern Rosaliengebirge in Lower Austria's industrial district .

Place name

The place name of the Rotte Hocheckgraben is probably related to the neighboring Schwarzenbacher Rotte Hochegg , it is the 'ditch behind the Hochegg'.

history

In the past, this small valley was popularly known as the Gypsy Trench, as almost all Roma and Sinti resident in Schwarzenbach lived here. None of the Schwarzenbach Roma, Sinti and Jews returned after the Second World War.
