Königsbichl is a group of the Schwarzenbach market town in the Wiener Neustadt-Land district in Lower Austria .
geography
Königsbichl is located in the southern Rosaliengebirge in the Lower Austrian industrial district on the border with Burgenland . The neighboring community of the market community Schwarzenbach in the area of the Rotte Königsbichl is the village community Sieggraben . The highest point is at the Königsbichl of the same name at 608 m above sea level. A.
Place name
The name comes from the mountain Königsbichl (" Bühel, Bichl " for "mountain"). Other historical spellings are therefore "Königsbügel" and "Königsbichl". In the Josephinische Landesaufnahme the place is also called "Königs' Kugl".
history
Before the birth of Christ, the area was part of the Celtic Kingdom of Noricum and belonged to the immediate vicinity of the Celtic hill settlement Burg on the Schwarzenbacher Burgberg . Later under the Romans, today's Königsbichl was then in the province of Pannonia .
Königsbichl has always been part of the Schwarzenbach market town and has therefore always shared its history.
