Friedemann Adolph Goebel

Friedemann Adolph Goebel ( russ . Адольф Фридеманович Гебель, * 17th April 1826 in Jena , † January 9 . Jul / 21st January  1895 greg. In Saint Petersburg ) was a German geologist. He was the son of the chemist Carl Christoph Göbel .

Friedemann Adolph Goebel received his doctorate as Dr. phil. and in 1851 became a laboratory assistant in the chemical cabinet of the University of Dorpat . He went on scientific excursions to the Baltic provinces. In 1857 he was a geologist on the expedition to Kharassan in southern Kazakhstan .

He investigated the naphtha districts on the Caspian Sea . He did research on edible soil and on meteorites.

Goebel was a member of the Academy of Sciences in Saint Petersburg .
