Glasgraben is a group of the Schwarzenbach market town in the Wiener Neustadt-Land district in Lower Austria .
geography
Glasgraben is located in the Glasgraben of the same name in the southern Rosaliengebirge in the Lower Austrian industrial district on the border with Burgenland . Neighboring community of the market community Schwarzenbach in the area of the Rotte Glasgraben is the municipality Mattersburg .
Place name
In the Josephinische Landesaufnahme the place is also called "Klasgraben".
In the glass ditch earlier probably were glassworks.
history
Before the birth of Christ, the area was part of the Celtic Kingdom of Noricum and belonged to the immediate vicinity of the Celtic hill settlement Burg on the Schwarzenbacher Burgberg . Later under the Romans, today's Glasgraben was then in the province of Pannonia .
Glasgraben has always been part of the Schwarzenbach market town and has therefore always shared its history.
