Catholic parish church Kobersdorf
The Roman Catholic parish church Kobersdorf stands at an altitude above the community Kobersdorf ( Croatian : " Kobrštof ", Hungarian : " Kabold ") in the Oberpullendorf district in Burgenland . The parish church , consecrated to St. Nicholas of Myra , belongs to the Deutschkreutz deanery of the Eisenstadt diocese . The church and the cemetery are under monument protection .
history
The church was first mentioned in a document in 1463. In 1711 she was raised to a parish. The current baroque building dates from 1728. A comprehensive restoration took place in 1955/56.
architecture
The church is surrounded by a defensive wall and an earth wall. The nave and choir with a 3/8 end are the same width. The mighty tower is not structured and has a pointed stone helmet. It is built in front of the west facade. On the eastern outer wall is a large wooden crucifix from the 18th century in a niche .
The church interior has four bays with a barrel vault with stitch caps ; there is also a barrel vault above the choir bay. The straight gallery is designed without supports. The apse is separated from the nave by a round arched triumphal arch .
The cemetery wall around the church dates from the 17th century. The gate is decorated with dovetail battlements. A tombstone of Johann Eiweck († 1763) is set into the wall.
Furnishing
The high altar dates from the 18th century. The altar structure was erected in 1970 as a copy of the destroyed original. The cornice is cranked and runs over two columns. The altarpiece shows St. Nicholas and is flanked on the side by the figures of Saints Augustine , Nicholas, Catherine and Barbara . There is a picture of the Holy Trinity on the top . In the corners of the apse are the figures of Saints Peter and Paul, restored in 1956 . The font comes from the first half of the 18th century.
On the east wall there are three wooden figures Faith , Love and Hope as well as two angels from the former pulpit from the 18th century.
