Anton von Ziegesar

Anton Freiherr von Ziegesar (born June 26, 1783 in Gotha , † November 13, 1843 in Drackendorf ) was a German judge and member of the Ziegesar family .

origin

Von Ziegesar was the son of August Friedrich Carl von Ziegesar (1746–1813), a senior civil servant in Gotha and Weimar, until 1808 real privy councilor and chancellor of Duke Saxe-Gotha-Altenburg , then until 1813 general landscape director in Weimar. The mother was born Magdalene Auguste (von Wangenheim ). Sylvie von Ziegesar is a sister.

Life

From 1800 he studied law at the University of Jena and from 1803 the same in Göttingen. In 1804 he became an assessor for the government in Weimar. At the same time he was an assistant to the chief steward v. Einsiedel assigned to the court of Duchess Anna Amalia. In 1808 he accompanied the then Hereditary Prince to Petersburg and to the congress in Erfurt.

After his father's death in 1813, he inherited his Drackendorf estate . The united estates elected him to replace his father as general landscape director. In this capacity he chaired the advisory meeting on the Basic Law of May 5, 1816. On January 1, 1816, he was appointed President of the State Directorate. At the end of 1816 he moved to the newly established Higher Appeal Court in Jena as second president . After the departure of the first President of Einsiedel, he became sole President of the court in 1825. In 1829 he also took over the trustee of the university and in 1839 the position of a verdict at the federal arbitration tribunal.

From 1817 he was a member of the state parliament of Saxony-Weimar-Eisenach for the estate of the estate owners in the Weimar district. He carried the title of a Grand Ducal Saxon Real Privy Councilor.

In 1807 he married the former court lady Anna Amalias, Luise Auguste Friedrike Amalie Freiin von Stein zu Nord- und Ostheim (1781–1855). The following children were born from the marriage:
