Antonie Fournier
Antonie Fournier , married Antonie Kronser , ( September 12, 1809 in Solingen - January 23, 1882 in Graz ) was an Austrian theater actress .
Life
Orphaned at an early age, she was raised by her aunt, the actress Huber. At the same time she heard nothing other than talking about the theater, and therefore her interest in the stage was aroused at an early stage and more and more inflamed by frequent visits to the theater. Even as a schoolgirl, she played theater with her colleagues and was marveled at by them because of her “achievements”.
After she had grown up, she first got involved in small stages to test her talent and in 1828 accepted an appointment at the Dresden court theater. There she had worthy role models and was able to develop accordingly.
Little by little, her skills also unfolded in an extraordinary way, so that she was one of the most important phenomena of the Dresden Art Institute. Only activities that did not always remain in the field of art embittered her stay in Dresden and in 1829, after a brilliant guest performance ("Käthchen von Heilbronn", "Recha" and "Melitta"), the artist was committed to the Berlin court opera theater, and so on she worked there until 1833, in which year she became a member of the Hofburgtheater.
Her departure from Berlin was described by the management as a disadvantage for the Prussian court stage and even the king, who had spoken very favorably about her performance, regretted her departure.
The temptation alone to be able to work in an excellent position at Germany's first art institute [sic!] Was too great, and so she turned down all applications for renewed engagement in Berlin and happily signed the Vienna contract after she was named " Julie "in Romeo and Julie , on October 12th as" Kunigunde "in Hans Sachs , on October 16th as" Maiden of Orleans ", on October 24th as" Lucia "in King Enzian , on October 30th as Louise in Kabale and Liebe had completed the guest performance aimed at commitment with brilliant success.
As a committed member of the Austrian court stage, she appeared on February 16 as "Julie" (in Romeo and Julie ), and from that time until 1872 she was a popular member of the Hofburgtheater.
In that year she retired, withdrew entirely from the theater, moved to her permanent residence in Graz, where she passed away on January 24, 1882.
Fournier was married to the then well-known Viennese doctor Kronser, and also appeared publicly under this name.
