Antonio Autiero

Antonio Autiero (born January 28, 1948 in Naples ) is an Italian Roman Catholic theologian and philosopher .

Life

After finishing school in Naples, Autiero studied Roman Catholic theology from 1966 to 1971 at the Pontificia Facoltà teologica dell'Italia meridionale in Naples and graduated with a Licentia in S. Theologia . In 1972 he was ordained a priest in Naples. From 1973 to 1975 Autiero completed a doctoral degree in moral theology at the Pontifical Lateran University in Rome ; In 1979 he received his doctorate. At the same time as a lecturer, Autiero studied philosophy from 1976 to 1981 at the Facoltà di Lettere e Filosofia of the Istituto Universitario Orientale in Naples ; In 1981 he received his doctorate in philosophy. After research and teaching activities, especially in Germany, Autiero was Professor of Moral Theology at the Catholic Theological Faculty of the University of Münster from 1991 to 2013 . From 1997 to 2011 he was also director of the Centro per le Scienze Religiose in Trento . Autiero is a signatory of the memorandum “ Church 2011: A Necessary Awakening ”.
