Ternsche

Ternsche is the name of a farming community in the town of Selm in the North Rhine-Westphalian district of Unna .

geography

Ternsche borders in the north on the farmers Tüllinghoff and Ermen belonging to Lüdinghausen , in the east on Nordkirchen , in the southeast on the Selmer farms Ondrup , in the south on the old town of Selmer and in the west on the farms Rechede, which belongs to Olfen .

The northern border of the peasantry is also the northern border of the city of Selm and the district of Unna.

In the far west of the farmers lies the Ternscher See , which was created during the extraction of clay for the construction of the nearby Dortmund-Ems Canal .

history

In the Werden lift roll from 1150, the farmers are referred to as Ternezka and also as Ternize . Later names are Ternschede, Ernschede and Terns . It belonged to the Stevergau , while all other farmers in the city of Selm belonged to the Dreingau . According to the chronicler Didon, rye was mainly grown in the peasantry. There were also a greater number of meadows and pastures.

In 1987 the Ternsche farmers had a total of 377 inhabitants.
