José Antonio Sánchez de la Calle , or Calle for short (born October 17, 1978 in Madrid ), is a Spanish football player who has been playing for Albacete Balompié in the Spanish Segunda División B since January 2011 .

Player career

Amateur clubs

Born in Madrid, Antonio Calle started his football career in 1996 in the Rayo Vallecano B team . He then came to represent Atlético Madrid through the amateur club CD Fuencarral . But there he failed and went to the Colegio Amorós after only six months. Antonio Calle also worked at FC Talavera and CD Onda, where he spent the next two years.

Professional football

In 2001 Antonio Calle moved to the second division promoted Deportivo Xerez . For the second time in his career he played in the Segunda División . With Xerez he just missed promotion to the first division. After three missed promotions, the striker moved to league rivals Recreativo Huelva in 2004 . With the Andalusians he managed to climb to the top class in 2005/2006. However, happiness did not last long. After the first half of the 2006/2007 season, he left the club again because he was no longer used and went back to the second division, where he played for Albacete Balompié for half a year .

The last few years

In the summer of 2007, Calle finally signed a contract with the first division relegated Gimnàstic de Tarragona . There he was able to get a regular place after a long time and scored four times in 28 games. After the season, however, he left the club again and signed with league rivals Deportivo Xerez . In Xerez he was rarely used over the full distance and was mostly allowed to play as a substitute. Nevertheless, he was able to score eight goals in 29 games and thus had his share in the promotion to the Primera División. Nevertheless, he left the club and moved to league rivals FC Girona . There he only came into play in the second half of the season and moved again within the Segunda División in summer 2010. This time he joined Real Valladolid , who had just been relegated from the Primera División . After four goals in the first three matches of the season, he could not score another goal and finally lost his regular place.

For this reason, he moved to the Spanish third division club Albacete Balompié in winter 2011 .
