Antonio Francisco Astiazarán Gutiérrez

Antonio Francisco Astiazarán Gutiérrez (born July 13, 1971 in the state of Sonora ) is a Mexican politician and since September 16, 2006 mayor of Guaymas .

Antonio Astiazarán Gutiérrez studied law at the University of Hermosillo, where he received his bachelor's degree before he later obtained his master's degree at the University of Essex .

Gutiérrez is a member of the Partido Revolucionario Institucional . Prior to his mayor's office, he held various federal positions. On September 16, 2006, he finally assumed the office of Mayor of Guaymas. In June 2007 Gutiérrez was recognized by Eduardo Bours , the governor of the state of Sonora, for the success in modernizing the garbage disposal of Guaymas.

Gutiérrez is married and has two children.
