Antonio Pereira-Pacheco y Ruiz

Antonio Pereira-Pacheco y Ruiz (born June 12, 1790 in San Cristóbal de La Laguna , Tenerife , † April 28, 1858 in Tegueste , Tenerife) was a Spanish clergyman and writer .

Life

Pereira-Pacheco y Ruiz worked mainly on Tenerife and also for a time in Peru. He wrote numerous historical writings, travel reports, philological studies and made drawings. His works are one of the most important sources of history, especially the cultural history of Tenerife in the 19th century. On December 28, 1850, he was accepted as an honorary member of the Academy of Fine Arts of Kanaria. A culture award is named after him.
