Anvil Bitch is an American thrash metal band from Philadelphia , Pennsylvania , which was founded in 1983 under the name Innocent Exile , split up in 1988 and reunited in 2008.

history

The band was founded in the fall of 1983 by guitarist John Plumley, drummer Chuck Stadulis, bassist Dave Carr and guitarist Frank Wilus under the name Innocent Exile. A short time later, singer Gary Capriotti was added and completed the line-up. Together with the band Black Task , the first local appearances followed. In 1985 the band recorded their first demo, which allowed them to attract more attention. At this time guitarist Frank Wilus left the band so that he only wrote the song Time to Die . The demo brought the band to the attention of New Renaissance Records . The label included the band on two compilations . In 1986 the group went into the studio to record their first and only album, Rise to Offend . After the album was released in the same year, appearances as the opening act for groups like Exodus , King Diamond , Overkill and Motörhead followed . Herb Yea helped out as a guitarist. Yea was shown on the album, but cannot be heard on the phonogram. Yea left the band afterwards. In 1988 the band broke up. Plumley, Stadulis and Carr then formed the band Dominance, while Capriotti joined the band Without Warning.

In 2008 the band came together again and consisted of the original members Plumley, Carr, Stadulis and Capriotti, as well as the new guitarist Lance Walter, who was also a member of the band Dominance. Walter left the band in March 2010.

style

The band plays a structured Thrash Metal. The music is comparable to that of albums like Metallica's Kill 'Em All , Whiplash's Power and Pain, and Onslaughts Power from Hell .
