The Anxiety Nunataks (from English anxiety , fear, fear, worry, trepidation ” ) are a series of nunataks in the East Antarctic Georg V country . They tower on the west side of the Mawson Peninsula .
Aerial photos were taken between 1946 and 1947 during the US operation Highjump , in 1958 by Soviet scientists and in 1959 by scientists from the Australian National Antarctic Research Expeditions (ANARE). The Antarctic Names Committee of Australia named it in 1972 after an incident in which engine problems on a flight had caused fear and concern among ANARE participants.
