Bodo Krause (born May 1, 1942 in Berlin ) is a German mathematician and university professor for psychological methodology . He is shown as a Klix and Budach student .

education

Bodo-Joachim Krause was born in Berlin as the son of the technician Herbert Krause and his wife, the dressmaker Anneliese Krause, née. Jahnke, born. After attending the seventh elementary school, as well as the 7th and 8th grade school in the district Berlin-Prenzlauer Berg from 1948 to 1956 then the Advanced Secondary School "Karl Friedrich Schinkel" was followed in this municipality, and was established here in 1960, the High School from.

In 1960 there was a pre-registration for the study of mathematics from the academic year 1961 at the Humboldt University in Berlin, combined with a practical year as a machine worker in the factory for television electronics in Berlin as a prerequisite for admission to the study.

This was followed by a degree in mathematics from 1961 to 1966 at the Humboldt University in Berlin (HUB), Institute for Mathematics (director: Hans Reichardt ). In 1966 he graduated as a mathematician with a thesis in the field of algebra of free semigroups.

In 1970 he received his doctorate in the field of mathematical psychology. rer. nat. with a dissertation on the description of cognitive structures and processes (reviewers: Friedhart Klix , Lothar Budach , Hans-Jürgen Lander ). In the same year the facultas docendi (teaching qualification) for mathematical psychology and electronic data processing was awarded. In 1980 Bodo Krause obtained his doctorate B (equivalent to habilitation ) for the academic degree Dr. sc. nat. with a dissertation on the analysis of information processing in cognitive processes (reviewers: Friedhart Klix , Hans-Jürgen Lander , Jürgen Guthke ).

Scientific professions

Bodo Krause started his career from 1963 to 1966 as an assistant at the "Institute for Mathematics" at the HUB. From 1966 to 1970 he was a research assistant at the Institute for Psychology at the HUB under the direction of Friedhart Klix , which became the Psychology Section in 1968. In 1967 he was appointed a member of the central data processing working group of the HUB. In 1968 Bodo Krause took over the founding and management of a "Problem Solving Research Group" in the field of general psychology at the Institute for Psychology at HUB.

From 1970 to 1983 Krause held the position of senior scientific assistant at the Psychology Section, which was newly established as part of the third university reform in 1968 (Section Directors: Gerhard Rosenfeld , Friedhart Klix , Hans-Dieter Schmidt and Klaus-Peter Timpe ). In the period from 1982 to 1985 he was entrusted with the management of the state contract for “computer-aided screen workstations” in several research groups in the Psychology Section.

From 1982 to 1991, Bodo Krause held the position of Deputy Section Director for Research in the Psychology Section. In 1983 he became a university professor appointed to the position of a university lecturer in Psychology at the Department of Psychology at the Humboldt University of Berlin by the Minister of Higher and Specialized Education. From 1986 to 1989 he was in charge of the state commission “Analysis of interactive problem-solving processes” of several research groups in the Psychology Section. At almost the same time from 1986 to 1990 he was in charge of the research group “Interactive Problem Solving” in the field of general psychology in the Psychology Section.

In 1986, the Minister for Higher Education and Technical Education was appointed to the position of associate professor at the Psychology Section of the Humboldt University in Berlin. In 1987 he was employed as a project manager in the context of topic 10 on scientific-technical cooperation between the Federal Republic of Germany and the GDR. In addition, he was appointed head of the psychological part of the interdisciplinary research topic "Network Machines" at the Mathematics and Natural Sciences Faculty of the HUB.

In the period from 1989/1990 he was entrusted with the management of the working team for the establishment and as designated director of a newly founded institute for psychology at the Academy of Sciences of the GDR (AdW). However, due to the winding up of the AdW in the course of German reunification , this project was no longer realized.

Since 1990, Bodo Krause has led the research seminar “Learning and Problem Solving” at the newly created Department of Psychology at the Humboldt University in Berlin. From 1990 to 1992 he became a member of the spokesperson's group for the initiative to found a “methodology group” in the German Psychological Society . Until 2007 he was active in this newly founded specialist group.

During this time he was also research coordinator at the Institute for Experimental Psychology in the Psychology Department at the HUB. In 1992, Bodo Krause was appointed university professor for the field of psychological methodology at the Department of Psychology at the Humboldt University in Berlin. From 1993 to 2014 he was chairman of the “Center for empirical evaluation methods e. V. “, after which he became its honorary chairman.

Bodo Krause was Managing Director of the Institute for Psychology at Humboldt University from 1994 to 1998, and then Deputy Managing Director until 2000. From 1998 to 2001 he was dean of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences II. From 2002 to 2004 he was again managing director of the Institute for Psychology.

In 2001 Bodo Krause was elected a member of the learned society Leibniz Society of Sciences in Berlin . Here he held the position of managing director of the Foundation of Friends of the Leibniz Society from 2007 to 2013. After reaching the age limit of 65 in 2007, Bodo Krause was released into retirement in 2008 .

Bodo Krause is since 1972 with the doctorate philologist , born Marlis Krause Zschernig is married and lives with his wife in Berlin. The couple has a son Bernd Krause (* 1975) who studied mathematics and business administration at the HUB and graduated with a degree in business administration in 2002 .
