Anya Marina (born September 23, 1976 in Ann Arbor , Michigan ) is an American singer-songwriter .
biography
From her native Michigan, Marina originally moved to California to get into the movie business. After two smaller roles, however, she switched to a radio station in San Diego as a presenter . In addition, she worked on a music career, which in 2004 led to her debut album Miss Halfway . The album itself was not yet a great success, but it caught the eye and contributed several songs to the soundtrack of the television series Grey's Anatomy . This led to a record deal with Chop Shop Records .
As a full-time musician, she then worked on her second album Slow & Steady Seduction , which was released in 2009. With the song Whatever You Like she had her first chart hit, which reached number 4 in the Heatseeker charts.
She also wrote the song Satellite Heart for the soundtrack of New Moon .
