Aoi Watanabe (born September 16, 1999 in Tokyo ) is a Japanese short tracker .

Career

Watanabe appeared internationally for the first time at the Junior World Championships in Sofia in 2016 and achieved tenth place in the all- around event and sixth place in the relay. She made her debut in the Short Track World Cup in Dresden in February 2016 , taking 25th place over 500 m and 23rd place over 1500 m. In the following year she won the bronze medal with the relay at the Junior World Championships in Innsbruck and at the World Championships in Rotterdam . At the 2018 Junior World Championships in Tomaszów Mazowiecki , she won the silver medal with the relay. In the 2018/19 season, she finished ninth with the relay at the 2019 Junior World Championships in Montreal and fifth with the relay at the 2019 World Championships in Sofia. At the Four Continents Championships in Montreal in 2020 , she finished 12th in the all-around competition and fifth in the relay.
