The Aorere River is a river in the region Tasman on the South Island of New Zealand .

The source is on the northern flank of the Dommet Range of the Tasman Mountains in Kahurangi National Park . The river flows north and northeast for 40 km and flows into Golden Bay at Collingwood .

The most important of the numerous streams and tributaries that flow into the river are Spey, Boulder and Slate River, the only settlements on the river are Bainham , Rockville and Aoere besides Collingwood .
