Aovere is a village ( Estonian küla ) in the Estonian rural municipality Tartu ( Tartu vald ) in Tartu County ( Tartu maakond ). It has 86 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2010).

Aovere was known for its historic tavern until the early modern times . It was located at the important crossroads between Tartu , Kohtla-Järve , Kallaste and Räpina . The restaurant ( Kilgi kõrts ) and the place were known under the family name Kilgi . The Kilgi family burial site, which was buried between the 15th and 18th centuries, is located under a burial mound nearby.
