Aq Sunqur al-Hajjib
Qasim al-Dawla Abu Said Aq-Sunqur al-Hadschib was a Turkish Mamluks - Emir , of the Seljuk Sultan Malik Shah I. 1086 governor of (ruled 1072-1092). Aleppo was charged. His famous son Zengi founded the Zengid dynasty.
Aq-Sunqur al-Hajjib was installed as governor of Aleppo in order to dampen the destructive ambitions of Tutush I , a brother of Malik Shah and ruler in Damascus . He accompanied Tutusch when he grabbed power in the Seljuq Empire in 1093, but betrayed him together with another commander named Bozan (from Edessa ) and ran over to Sultan Berk-Yaruq (ruled 1092 / 4–1105). Thereupon Tutusch captured Edessa and Aleppo in 1094 and killed him.
