Araceli "Arly" Jover (born February 2, 1971 in Melilla ) is a Spanish actress .

biography

Jover was born in Melilla, a Spanish exclave in North Africa. When she was five, her family moved to Mallorca because her father had been transferred there as a soldier. She is the youngest of seven siblings, four sisters and three brothers.

She wanted to become a dancer from an early age. She started dancing at the age of eight. At 14 she left school and at 15 she won a scholarship from the Comité Hispano Norteamericano. For this reason she moved to New York to study at the School of American Ballet under Martha Graham . After two and a half years in the United States, her acting career began around 1995-1996. She had her first role in an episode of the TV show Women: Stories of Passion and appeared in two international films Tango and The Ballad of Johnny-Jane . She then had a few roles on television until her American film debut in Blade in 1998 and as Mercury as the vampire lover of Deacon Frost.

In the following years she played in various small roles in film and television, as well as larger roles and the like. a. in Fish in a Barrel and Vampires: Los Muertos . After 18 years in the United States, she moved to France. Shortly after arriving, she got an important role in the film The Empire of the Wolves with Jean Reno .
