The river Arån is a Swedish river in southern Jämtland . It has its source in western Oviksfjällen and flows into the Ljungan River near Börtnan . Over time it has formed a valley, which is characterized by a lush mountain flora. In the northern area this valley was called Arådalen . There are numerous plant habitats in the area around Arån - from the treeless mountain tundra ( kalfjäll ) to the species-rich swamps.
