The employees of the employment promotion centers support above all jobseekers and people in need of help with their reintegration in the labor market . They carry out retraining , further training, further measures and advisory services and are largely publicly funded. For this purpose, they maintain their own facilities, such as training centers, exercise workshops and shops, and youth hostels. You often work together with the Federal Employment Agency , job centers or optional municipalities .

The various employment promotion centers are non-profit organizations, work independently of one another and are organized as a registered association or limited liability company . Job promotion centers exist in Bremen (with representation in Bremerhaven ), Bad Kissingen u. a.) and in Meiningen . Some of them have subsidiaries in which subsidized jobs are carried out for those who are difficult to place (company Personal Aktiv des AFZ Bremerhaven).
