In August 2010 it was decided to close the working group on August 31, 2010; their work is continued by the protection of the constitution.

criticism

The Scientology working group was in constant legal dispute with Scientology; since 1992 there are said to have been over 50 legal proceedings. The Scientologists understand their new religious movement as persecuted and vilified. A revision procedure lost before the Federal Administrative Court in 2005 by the Scientology working group, regarding the failure to disseminate a pre-formulated declaration against the use of L. Ron Hubbard's technology in companies, is repeatedly used by the opponents of the AGS.

Renate Hartwig , herself a critic of Scientology, described the Scientology working group and its former head Ursula Caberta as "hypocrites and Pharisees at the control trough" in her book Die Schattenspieler , who are not concerned with the fight against Scientology but with maintaining their positions.
