Koblenz Arboretum

The Arboretum Koblenz is a good 4.5 hectare large Arboretum (= Tree collection) in the district of bonanza the independent city Koblenz in Rhineland-Palatinate . More than 220 species of deciduous trees , around 75 species of conifers and around 250 species of shrub from all over the world are presented on the grounds of the main cemetery on Beatusstrasse . The symbol of the arboretum is a ginkgo leaf .

history

The first plantings for the arboretum were made in 1971 in the cemetery. It was officially inaugurated on the occasion of the 2000 year celebration of the city in 1992. A 2000 year old sequoia disk was set up in the entrance area.
