Arcane Roots were an alternative rock band of three from Kingston upon Thames (London) , England . They released their first album Blood and Chemistry in 2013 on PIAS Recordings and reached number 7 on the UK rock charts.

history

Andrew Groves and Daryl Atkins met at Reigate College in Surrey , where they both studied music technology . In 2007 they formed a band together with the bassist Frank Tiramani. They released their first CD, which they recorded at home, for free at various shows in the south of London, which they often did in the years to come. In the same year they started recording their first EP Brave the Sea at Stakeout Studios in Richmond. The recordings dragged on for over a year and so the band released the EP digitally in August 2008. In spring 2009 Frank Tiramani left the band and was replaced by Adam Burton. Although already published once in April 2010, the band released their EP Left Fire again in April 2012 on PIAS Recordings in larger numbers. It received mostly good reviews. Arcane Roots also toured for the first time in 2011 with the Scottish band Twin Atlantic . They gained further notoriety through a headline tour in early 2013, as support for The Used and for the Europe-wide tours of Muse and Biffy Clyro and various festivals.

On August 31, 2018, the band announced their breakup on their official Facebook page after the upcoming concerts in October. The reason for the separation of the band was the focus on new long-term projects (in the original: " to look inwards and take on new long term projects ").
