Archaeological Center (Berlin)
The Archaeological Center is an interdisciplinary research center for all archaeological fields. It was opened in 2012 and supports the work of the archaeological collections of the National Museums in Berlin - Prussian Cultural Heritage .

The archaeological center is located at Geschwister-Scholl-Strasse 6 in Berlin-Mitte . The Museum Island is nearby .
Edification
The building was designed by the Stuttgart architects Harris + Kurrle . The completion was a further step towards the realization of the Museum Island master plan .
The building, which is suitable for research, documentation, restoration and conservation of all holdings, has a reading room suitable for working with historical writings and artifacts at the same time. Due to the latter, the Archaeological Center Berlin is of great importance to specialists at home and abroad as well as to students and young academics.

The Archaeological Center is currently used by five major archaeological museums as a common platform for employees, scientific work, laboratories and research. These are:
- the Egyptian Museum ,
- the antique collection ,
- the Museum of Islamic Art ,
- the Museum of Pre- and Protohistory and
- the Vorderasiatisches Museum .
The following are also located in the Archaeological Center:
- the central archive of the State Museums in Berlin and
- the archeological library of the art library .
