Archibald Low
Archibald Montgomery Low (* 1888 in Purley ( London ), † September 13, 1956 in London) was an English engineer . He was an inventor , author of more than 40 books and owner of over 100 patents.
Life
Low was called the "father of radio control " because he did pioneering work in the field of guided missiles (bomb with warhead, "aerial target"), aircraft and torpedoes around 1917. He was a pioneer in many fields but completed few things. He was unpopular with contemporaries because he loved the limelight and publicity and also because he held the title of professor without having an academic chair.
Archibald M. Low was also a pioneer in television from 1914 and into the early 1920s.
In 1976, Low was inducted into the International Space Hall of Fame in New Mexico .
