The archive for clan research and all related areas was a journal especially on the genealogy of well-known German families and their history. Under the main editorial management of Erich Wentscher and others, the magazine was published in more than 100 editions from 1928 to 1992 in CA Starke, book and art publisher, initially in Görlitz and later in Limburg.
The inserts included the following titles:
- German gender book / complete directory of names
- Ancestral lines from all German districts
- Lexicon of German Families
- Ancestral lines from all German districts / edition A
- Practical research aid
The archive for genealogy with the ISSN 0003-9403, which was temporarily published together with the bibliography on family history and heraldry , was the successor to the journal Kultur und Leben and was later continued under the title Archive for Family History Research.
