The Arco da Vila is registered as a Monumento Nacional building in the Portuguese city of Faro . It is one of the two landmarks of the city.

Today's building, inaugurated in 1812, was commissioned by Bishop Francisco Gomes do Avelar above one of the medieval city gates (Portas da Rainha). The design comes from the Genoese architect Francisco Xavier Fabri .

In the center of the outer facade is a marble statue made in Italy of Thomas Aquinas , the city's patron saint. Inside there is a horseshoe-shaped portal from the time of the Moorish occupation of the city.

Storks regularly breed on the Arco da Vila .
