Ardmore Point is a cape on the southeast coast of the Scottish Hebridean island of Islay . It is located approximately two miles south of Trudernish Point and seven miles east of the Port Ellen Ferry Terminal near the settlement of Ardmore . Ardmore Point marks the easternmost point on the island. The cape protrudes about 600 m from the land mass. It is not directly connected to the road network. The nearest road ends about 700 meters west in Ardmore. From Ardmore Point, the Islay Sound , Jura , Jura Sound , Gigha and Cara Islands and the Kintyre Peninsula are visible.

Nine ship accidents have been recorded around Ardmore Point. The most recent accident so far took place on February 25, 1975 when the steamship Shuna ran aground on a reef there.
