Batailles de reines

The Arena Croix-Noire , French Arène de la Croix-Noire , is a stadium and event location in the Italian city of Aosta .

The facility with an oval, partially covered grandstand around a grassy area was built in 1987 as a new venue for the traditional cow fights Batailles de reines . It is located in the east of the urban area near the Dora Baltea river on the municipal border with Saint-Christophe in an area called Croix-Noire .

The arena has a maximum length of 105 meters and a maximum width of 70 meters and offers seating for 4750 spectators, 1680 of which are covered.

In the first year of its existence, the arena was used exclusively for the final fight of the annual regional cow fighting season. Later, their additional use for other cultural purposes began with a concert by Miles Davis in 1988. This was followed by other concerts in the Arena Croix Noire at irregular intervals : Fabrizio De André performed in 1991, Bob Dylan in 1992 , Vasco Rossi in 1996 , Zucchero in 2011 .
