Areus (poet)
Areus is a laconic poet. All that is known about him is that he wrote a poem, Song Cyknos , which was about Cyknos , the son of Apollo . Possibly he is identical with the poet Aseios or Asios in Pausanias . This is said to have written a poem in which he does not name Ares as the father of Thestios , but Agenor , the son of Pleuron .
