Argentine-Pakistani relations

The Argentine-Pakistani relations describe the bilateral relations between Pakistan and Argentina . Pakistan has an embassy in Buenos Aires . Argentina, for its part, has an embassy in Islamabad .

history

Diplomatic relations between Pakistan and Argentina were established in October 1951. Many agreements have since been signed and state visits have been held between the two countries. The relationship between the two countries is of a friendly nature. The agreements are designed to improve the economics and politics of Pakistan and Argentina. An agreement to strengthen trade and cooperation was signed in 2002. The agreement was aimed at giving the relationship a new status with the World Trade Organization . The Argentine government emphasized the importance of bilateral relations and invited the Pakistani ambassador, Naela Chohan, to a celebration of the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations.

Plaza de Pakistan

Plaza de Pakistan is a monument in Buenos Aires that was erected in honor of diplomatic relations. The monument is located in Parque Tres de Febrero in Palermo . The monument was inaugurated in 2012 by the Pakistani Ambassador, Naela Chohan, and the Argentine Minister, Diego Santilli. The inauguration took place between the independence days of Pakistan and Argentina.

Argentina supported a UN resolution on Pakistan that affects Pakistan's self-realization. Pakistan supported a UN resolution condemning colonialism , which is particularly relevant to the Falkland Islands . Both countries support the reforms in the UN and an expansion of the UN Security Council with regard to the member states.

cooperation

Both countries have a number of trading companies. The Joint Economic Committee and Pak-Argentina Business Council are to further expand trade in both countries. Both countries are committed to developing the cooperation even in previously unknown areas and to sending trade delegations to the respective countries. Argentine companies have also expressed their desire to invest in Pakistan.

State visits

As part of his 2004 trip abroad to Latin America, Pervez Musharraf visited Argentina. The purpose of the state visit was to improve the economy of Pakistan and Argentina.
