description

The Argyle Cottage dates back to the early 19th century, making it one of the few old buildings in the city that have survived to this day. It is set back from the street and a low wall with a cast iron fence delimits the property on the street side. The masonry of the two-story, elongated building is made of sandstone . The central entrance area faces west and is accessible via three steps. Blinding pillars flank the double-winged door with a simple fighter window . Windows are arranged symmetrically on both sides of the door. The gable roof is covered with gray slate shingles. Cornices adorn the relatively small, gable-end chimneys.
