Arild Nyquist

Arild Nyquist (born March 6, 1937 in Oslo , † December 21, 2004 in Asker ) was a Norwegian writer.

Life

Arild Nyquist was a son of the writer Gerd Nyquist (1913-1984). He was married to a daughter of the painter Olav Mosebekk . His first novel Ringer i et sommervann was published in 1963. Arild Nyquist wrote poems, novels, children's stories, and he composed.

In 1971 Nyquist received the "Mads Wiel Nygaard Sponsorship Award" (Norwegian: "Mads Wiel Nygaards legat"). In 1994 he was nominated for the Nordic Council's Literature Prize for his autobiographical novel Ungdom . Because of his nonsense poem Now it's Christmas again in his volume of poems Nå er det jul igjen! og andre dikt , in 1972, he was attacked on the front page of a tabloid, and the promotion of literature in Norway was then discussed in the Norwegian Parliament .
