Arimmas (painter)
Arimmas ( ancient Greek Ἀρίμμας ) was a Greek painter who lived in the 5th century BC. Was active.
He is known from a mention by Varro , who names him as a contemporary of the painters Mikon and des Diores and who counted him among the earliest Greek painters. Like Mikon, he was probably from Athens . In the tradition the name of Arimna (s) was distorted. However, Arimma's form is considered to be secured by the oldest known and authoritative Varro manuscript, the Marcianus from Florence.
